The Kendriya Vidyalayas are run by the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, an autonomous body formed by the Ministry of Education (H.R.D) Govt. of India, New Delhi. As a result of the recommendations of the second Pay Commission of Central Govt. Employees including Defence Personnel and floating population liable to frequent transfers throughout the country Needless to say, they have common syllabus and are affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi.

Places chosen for establishing Kendriya Vidyalayas are those having concentration of Defence Personnel and other transferable Central Govt. employees. For admission, the Vidyalayas give priority to the children of the transferable Defence Personnel, Central Govt. employees and Personnel of All India Services but children of other floating population desirous of having such common pattern of education are also eligible for admission to the remaining seats. The instruction is imparted through the media of Hindi and English in these Vidyalayas, the ultimate object being to enable pupils to achieve a reasonable measure of proficiency in both the languages.

The Kendriya Vidyalaya aim at having not only a common syllabus but also a well prepared syllabus and good text books based on that syllabus. They are intended to be equipped with good libraries, good laboratories etc and variety of other useful co-curricular activities.

The vidayalaya has 24 Classrooms, 5 Labs, 12 Other rooms and facility of indoor & outdoor games.

The Vidyalayas imparts free education upto Class VIII. Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan has already adopted the new pattern of school education i.e. 10+2 pattern.
